When representing the service dogs in training, 4 Paws for Ability, or Paws for a Cause Miami on social media, you first need to keep in mind that you are representing these programs. Due to this, you must keep a level of professionalism on all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, GroupMe, anything that is shared on the web, etc.). We have listed some general guidelines for posting on social media below.

  • Excerpt from 4 Paws contract: "We ask that puppy raisers carefully consider what they post on social media and how it may be perceived by others. If you post pictures that show noncompliance with 4 Paws policies we will address the issue and may need to reevaluate placement in your home"

  • If a viewer could question whether or not the puppy raiser is being compliant with 4 Paws policies, the post must clarify the situation.

  • Dogs must be on-leash unless in an enclosed space. If the dog is pictured off-leash, the caption/description of the photo must state that it was taken in an enclosed area.

  • Dogs should never be pictured on any elevated surface meant only for human use (ex. benches, chairs, and tables).

  • Dogs should not be pictured as being picked up, unless the dog is a puppy (4 months or younger, under 30lbs).
